LAHORE: Heavy rain spell struck the city on Monday, leaving the low-lying areas in a flood-like situation.

It may be noted that the fresh spell of rain has started from Sunday with a prediction of further downpour during the next 48 hours. Heavy rain in different parts of Lahore has turned weather pleasant. However, many areas in the city including Choburji, Muslim Town, Rahmanpura, Lawrence underpass, Gulberg and Laxmi Chowk were inundated with rainwater.

It is worth noting that Monday was the very working day after lifting of lockdown by the Punjab government. Accordingly, a large number of people were out for their workplace when they were confronted with heavy downpour. However, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) drain out water from leading arteries of the city efficiently.
