Punjab issues SOPs for cattle markets

The Government of Punjab has issued the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that are to be followed on Eid-ul-Azha during coronavirus pandemic.

According to the notification, cattle markets should be established 2-5 kilometres outside city limits. The markets should have spacious parking lots with separate entry and exit points, the notification read. Markets should also have a medical camp, management offices with ventilation and management must ensure controlled entry.

The government has also forbidden more than two people per car to visit the market and have restricted the elderly and children from visiting. "People experiencing symptoms like fever, cough should avoid visiting cattle markets," the notification added.
