The Punjab Labour and Human Resources Department has set up modern laboratories at Centre for Improvement of Working Conditions and Environment (CIWCE) and Industrial Relations Institute (IRI) to provide advisory services on working environment issues to the industries.
While talking to a delegation of workers, here on Thursday, the Punjab Minister for Labour and Human Resources, Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna said that Center for the Improvement of Working Conditions and Environment (CIWCE) and Industrial Relations Institute (IRI) is the only institution of its kind in the country. He further said that training, information, and advice and research facilities on safety health and environment labour laws, child and bonded labour to industry workers and government agencies are being provided.
Ashraf Khan Sohna said that CIWCE has produced over 500 labour related publications including videos and has won prestigious national and international awards including ISO-9001 award. Hostel facilities are also being available on campus, concluded the Minister.
