Prominent labour leaders have demanded allocation of seats for working class to ensure their representation in the national and provincial assemblies and senate. In a joint statement, these labour leaders said that now the country is gradually and stably marching ahead on the path of democracy and it is the demand of the hour that the country's most powerful segment should be given its due status in the parliament.
These leaders said that people of Pakistan and their elected parliament are taking historic decisions and more far reaching and epoch-making decisions are in sight for the restoration of rights of the people of all the provinces in keeping with their aspirations. In their joint statement, they expressed the resolve that Pakistan Mazdoor Tehreek will continue to play its all out role to safeguard the elected parliament, democratic institutions etc.
