The district development committee, Khanewal, approved nine development schemes, costing Rs 101 million. DCO Khanewal Qazi Muhammad Ashfaq presided over the meeting while members of the committee and officers concerned were also present, said official sources here on Sunday.
The committee approved a road project from Mian Channu to Jandiali, costing Rs 50.5 million while Rs 11 million would be spent on the upgrade of Govt Boys High School, Sardarpur to higher secondary level. An amount of Rs 4.977 million has been earmarked for the construction of six additional rooms in Government Girls High School, Mahni Sial, in tahsil Kabirwala.
An amount of Rs 9.856 million will be spent on the upgrade of Govt Girls High School 23/10-R to higher secondary level while Rs 4.585 million and Rs 3.928 million have also been earmarked for upgrading Govt Middle School 58/10-R and Govt Boys Primary School, Salar Wahin Kohna, respectively. It also sanctioned Rs 4.254 million for the provision of necessary facilities in RHC Sarai Sindhu, Kabirwala, and Rs 7 million will be spent on the development of Fazal Park, Khanewal.
