Pakistan middle order batsman Umar Akmal, who has been engulf into a number of controversies on and off the field has missed out on Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Central Contract.

Some 35 players were awarded the contract in the latest Players Central Contracts announced by PCB for the year 2017-18 on Wednesday.

The younger Akmal, was placed in the ‘D’ category, in PCB’s Players Central Contracts for the year 2016-17.

Umar Akmal, once a regular for Pakistan in the limited overs has seen his career marred in a number of issues. Akmal, was schedule to represent Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy, but was left out of the squad owing to fitness issues.

Azhar Ali, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Amir and Babar Azam has been placed in ‘A’ category while Imad Wasim Asad Shafiq, Asad Ali and Wahab Riaz are in the ‘B’ category.

Meanwhile, Junaid Khan, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Abbas, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz has been placed in ‘C’ category.

Whereas, IPL superstar Rumman Raees has been placed in ‘D’ category.
