Scattered showers likely in Karachi in next 24 hours

KARACHI: Scattered light showers are expected to continue within next 24 hours, however, the city is unlikely to receive heavy rain, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

Karachi received light rain in different parts yesterday on Wednesday night, turning the weather cloudy and pleasant.

Moreover, dust-thunderstorm and light showers with gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, DI Khan, Sahiwal, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, according to Met weather forecast.

According to synoptic situation, moderate monsoon currents are penetrating upper and eastern parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 hours.
