Two police constables were killed, while seven injured including SHO Police Station Brana Jhang near Chak 425-GB, about 45km from here last night when a car and police van collided with a truck, which was parked in the middle of the road.
According to details, a police party of Police Station Brana District Jhang was chasing a proclaimed offender here last night in area of Police station Tandlianwala district Faisalabad. When two police vehicles reached near Chak 425GB, both collided with a truck (Peshawar - 4559), which was parked in the middle of the road. Zafar Iqbal SHO Police station Brana was leading police party in a private car, while a police jeep JGC-9525 was going behind the car.
In this accident, Shebaz Ahmad constable died on the spot, while another Khalil Ahmad expired on way to hospital. Noor Asif, Safdar Ali, Amjad Ali, Jafar Ali, Allah Bux, Gul Sher constables and Muhammad Akram ASI shifted to Allied Hospital Faisalabad and other nearest hospitals, where four of them reported to be serious.
SHO Police Station Brana Jhang Zafar Iqbal discharged from hospital after medical treatment. According to Tandlianwala Police, Truck Driver Mazhar Hussain of Sargodha was arrested on the spot, while all vehicles taken in to custody. A case against driver has also been registered, while investigation is in progress.
