Pakistan and China have re-opened border for trade and tourism at Khunjrab from May 1. According to a statement issued by the management of the Silk Route Dry Port, the port has also started its business operations with the taking over of the new management of the port at Sost (Upper Hunza) near Khunjarab.
The inaugural ceremony of the port with its new management was held in the presence of Chinese friends who came to the Sost for attending the ceremony. The officials of the Northern Areas Administration, the management of the Silk Route Dry Port and a large number of people of Hunza, hailing from Kilick to Mayun, were present there to warmly welcome their Chinese fiends at the ceremony.
The nine-member Chinese delegation at the ceremony was led by Dang. The flags of Pakistan and China were hoisted with full-throated slogans like Allah-o-Akbar, long live Pak-China friendship, long live Pakistan long live China, and long live Pakistan People's Party were raised.
The speakers said that people of Hunza are playing a vital role in the socio-economic development of Pakistan and would continue to play their important role in future as well in this regard.
