Hard red winter wheat futures on the Kansas City Board of Trade ended mostly lower on Thursday, caught up in a commodities setback in the face of a stronger dollar. The thinly traded, expiring KCBT May wheat contract ended up 1 cent at $8.65, while the most-active July settled down 2-1/2 cents at $8.39-1/2 after falling as low as $8.27. Back months also settled lower.
The losses came as part of a general selloff in commodities as the dollar climbed in value against the euro.
