Raw sugar futures edged higher in early business on Wednesday, with the benchmark March contract bouncing on either side of a key technical level, which could either push or stall the early advance, brokers said. The ICE Futures electronic March sugar contract rose 0.02 cent to 10.66 cents per lb at 9:25 am EST (1425 GMT), moving from 10.56 to 10.68 cents.
The rest of the board was mixed, down 0.02 to up 0.03 cent. Total open-outcry volume in the sugar market on Tuesday was at 12,710 lots and screen trade hit 60,711 lots, according to exchange data.
