ali-zafar1024Two of Pakistan’s top singers, Ali Zafar and Atif Aslam, were invited to perform in one of Karachi’s privileged university last Friday. Although the concert was a success, things turned out a bit different for Ali Zafar.

Both the artists had to perform for some of the VIPs who were seated on the front seats while their actual fans, the students, had to stand at the back and enjoy the event from a distance, the local media reported.

This increase in the VIP culture tempted Ali Zafar to write an open letter that was addressed to the concert organizers, institutions, promoters and schools.

The singer raised his voice against this culture and vowed not to perform for any organization that promoted this culture. Local TV channel reported that the artist informed that he is nothing without his fans and had strictly mentioned that he won’t perform in any event or concert that contained ‘VIP seats’.

Ali Zafar wrote on Facebook,

In the end of his letter, the singer stated, “Not have this VIP seating area in front of the stage and allow the real audience, students and fans, to be front and center.”
