MADRID: Spanish shares plunged by more than five percent on Tuesday in line with falls across Europe after a surprise decision by Greece to hold a referendum on the latest eurozone debt deal.
In afternoon trading, the Ibex-35 index of leading shares fell by 5.14 percent to 8,494.2 points.
