imageKARACHI: Karachi mayor Waseem Akhtar has appealed to the Pakistan Cricket Board to hold the final of the ongoing Pakistan Super League II in Karachi.

According to Geo News, while speaking to the media on Thursday, Waseem Akhtar said he will make sure Karachi hosts the final in the grandest way possible.

I take responsibility for ensuring that Karachi hosts the PSL 2017 final in a grand style, Akhtar said.

The final of the Pakistan Super League PSL II in Lahore but the issue appears to have been marked with serious challenges stemming from the reluctance shown by international players to land in the country after a terrorist attack in Punjabs provincial capital on Monday.

Regarding a question over the staging of the PSL II final in Lahore, the PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan thanked Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa for offering his support to host the mega event in the country. He said the board is confident of holding the PSL final at the Gaddafi Stadium in March.

He informed that security experts and managers of various cricket boards will soon be visiting Pakistan to assess the security situation for the resumption of international cricket in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Super League (PSL) Chairman Najam Sethi on Wednesday said that the PSL will offer franchisees the option to draft new players for the March 5 final in Lahore in case international stars opt out of playing in Pakistan.
