The second edition of the Pakistan Super league (PSL) is set to kick off tonight (Thursday); the T20 tournament is expected to be yet another entertainment packed spectacle of cricket.
This year, the PSL is even bigger than the inaugural edition with more international stars signed in. Which player can make their mark remains to be seen. Here is our list of players to watch out for:
Babar Azam
Pakistans latest batting prodigy, Babar Azam has made quite a name for himself in international cricket, particularly in the limited overs format. Azam who would be representing the Karachi Kings, has already accumulated a number of records under his belt.
With a red-hot form, Babar is a must watch in this years PSL.
Brendon McCullum
Former New Zealand skipper is already a legend of T20 cricket. Having him in the PSL is in itself a big achievement for the league.
The Lahore Qalandars captain is a major box office draw, and remains in top form after having leaded his side the Brisbane Heat in the recently concluded Australian Big Bash League.
Tymal Mills
English bowler Tymal Mills, is the latest buzzword in cricket thanks to his ability of attaining impressive speeds, Mills who has been recruited to Quetta Gladiators has already been billed as the fastest bowler of the tournament, and was praised highly by his fellow PSL skipper Sarfraz Ahmed.
Mills along with speedsters i.e. Wahab Riaz, Steve Finn and rest would be a pace force to be dealt with even on UAEs batting friendly tracks.
Sharjeel Khan
Pakistans opening batsman Sharjeel Khan, was the product of PSL I, was the major force to lead his side Islamabad United to their first ever title victory last year.
Khan, with his hard hitting ball smashing capabilities, remains one of the biggest entertainers of T20 cricket.
Usman Qadir
Son of Pakistans legendry leg spinner Abdul Qadir, Usman, who was picked from the Emerging Players slot by Lahore Qalanadars, is a leg spinner by trait.
Can Pakistan get another Qadir, well this years PSL would tell us.
