Published January 16, 2017 Updated January 16, 2017 02:07pm

imagePakistans star all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who is well known throughout the cricketing world for his blunt and outspoken nature, took a cheeky jibe at Ian Chappell on Sunday.

Afridi went on social media, expressing delight over Pakistans victory in the second One Day International (ODI) against Australia at the MCG yesterday, congratulating stand-in captain Muhammad Hafeez, for his leadership along with Junaid Khan and Shoab Malik for their contributions towards the game.

However, Afridi being Afridi didnt stop here and went on to take a jibe at Australian former captain turned commentator, as he tweeted Shabash Pakistan, great captaincy and inns Hafeez, Well done JK, Malik, Did you watch Ian Chappell?

Ian Chappell has been facing sharp criticism over his comments that the Cricket Australia should reconsider the utility of a future Pakistan tour to the country, while speaking to ESPNcricinfo.

"Pakistan have now lost 12 Test matches on the trot in Australia, and somebody's got to give them a kick up the bum," Chappell had said. "Cricket Australia have got to start saying 'listen if things don't improve we will stop with the invites'.

"You can't continue to [play poor] cricket. You can't bowl poorly, have conservative field placing and field sloppily and expect to play decent cricket in Australia."
