ISLAMABAD: Press Attach in Pakistani embassy in Kuwait Kashif Zaman has said that Kuwaiti media actively covered visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to Kuwait.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani spent very busy days in Kuwait and held meetings with representatives of many business organizations, including Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Kuwait Investment Authority and Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He added main objective of the meetings was promotion of bilateral trade between the two countries by presenting incentives to Kuwaiti investors for investment in Pakistan.

Kashif Zaman disclosed annual trade volume of the two countries is nearly two billion dollars, which is very low and Prime Minister through his visit had desire of increasing the bilateral trade to strengthen economy of Pakistan.

He added Prime Minister also addressed members of Pakistani community in Kuwait and held meetings with them.

Kashif Zaman said Pakistani embassy will soon start issuing computerized passports to Pakistan as Pakistanis are facing problems in this regard.

To a question, Kashif Zaman said Kuwaiti media was quite active in giving coverage to visit of Pakistani Prime Minister as both government and public give much importance to their ties with Pakistan.

He added media highlighted the past ties of the two countries and support to each other in times of need.
