Gulistan-e-Jouhar spread over 20 blocks in Karachi, is a hub of high-rise buildings where residency is growing vertically in addition to developments of houses and bungalows on desert area. It is linked with rest of the city from two main entry points, ie Johar Morh and via Shamama Shopping center on main Karachi University road.
The Johar Chorangee is the center of Gulistan-e-Jouhar through which all kind of vehicular traffic passes in four directions to different routes of the city.
Keeping in view the frequent movement of traffic in/out of Gulistan-e-Jouhar, only one entry point (Johar Morh) is equipped with electronic Traffic Signal. But there is no Traffic signal at other main point (opposite shamama shopping center) on Karachi University road, while the movement of vehicular traffic through this point is equally frequent and in huge member.
All traffic for entry and exit of Gulistan-e-Jouhar via said two main points has to pass through Johar Chorangee for onwards proceeding to the four different directions.
Therefore, in order to control smooth flow of traffic and minimise accidents, the electronic traffic signals are essentially required to the installed at 'Johar Chorangee' as well as opposite Shamama Shopping Center at main Karachi University Road.
Governor of Sindh is requested to kindly order concern authorities to inspect the site for physical survey of the frequent traffic movement and arrange earliest installation of the electronic traffic signals with posting of traffic police at both said exit/entry points during peak hours.
