Telecoms giant Nokia will set up a telecoms infrastructure plant in Chennai, India, the Finnish firm said on May 31,without giving financial details. A plant for base station controllers will start up during first half of 2006, at the same time with Nokia's mobile phone production plant.
"Chennai was a natural choice for us as we are already establishing a production facility there," Simon Beresford-Wylie, the head of Nokia's network unit, said in a statement.
