The lineup of vessels to load sugar in Brazilian ports fell to 34 from 36 a week ago, shipping agent Williams said. In a weekly report, Williams said 14 vessels were lined up in the southern port of Santos, down from 17 last week. In the north-eastern ports of Recife and Maceio, there were three and 11 vessels, respectively, compared with one and 11 last week. Cane harvesting has finished in the north-east but the larger center-south harvest is now in full swing. Santos accounted for 56 percent of sugar tonnage being loaded in Brazilian ports, while Maceio took 27 percent and Recife 6 percent.
