Mobilink, the country's largest cellular service provider, on Friday launched its much-awaited GPRS powered services with a WAP portal. The company has initially offered the GPRS service to its privileged customers using 'Indigo package' in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Faisalabad. The company also hinted that "soon the service would be available all over the country for the entire customer-base." The launch of this service would certainly add value in the Mobilink service. Mobilink Director Marketing, Bilal Munir Sheikh said, "With the launch of GPRS powered services, we have introduced for the first time in Pakistan, a WAP portal from which you can get updated news from Reuters, BBC and other key publications."
"Customers can get information on travel, weather and business updates; can download music, polyphonic ringtones, animated greeting cards, games, and much more to keep one engrossed for hours," he added.
The service also provides a media section with reviews on the latest movies and trailers of upcoming movies; sports fans can view all the latest sports news, reviews and updates by visiting the WAP portal.
Bilal Sheikh said, "the company powered by GPRS, is our platform for new and innovative services which will change the way customers experience their mobile connection."
