On the eve of the visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao from Tuesday, the Foreign Office has acknowledged that Beijing had been supporting the efforts to bring about a thaw between Islamabad and New Delhi. Answering questions at his weekly news conference here on Monday, spokesman Jalil Abbas Jilani told a questioner that Chinese role in the context of Pak-India relations had been "very very constructive role from day one."
He said Beijing had supported all those initiatives that Pakistan had taken to bring about peace and stability in the region.
