Central leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri has said that a country wide protest day would be observed on April 8 against the police firing in Gugranwala. Condemning police for opening fire on National Assembly member Qazi Hamidullah Khan and other activists of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), he said on Monday that the policemen involved in this act must be dealt with iron hands.
The JUI-F leader demanded of the government to appoint a judicial commission to conduct impartial inquiry into the incident of police firing and release all MMA activists.
He alleged that the present rulers were making the country a secular state and was organising such ceremonies, which were against the spirit of Islam.
