Pakistan Gloves Manufacturers and Exporters Association (Pgmea) Chairman Abdul Waheed has urged the government to impose a ban on raw leather export to save the country's leather gloves and garments industry from disaster. Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, the Pgmea Chairman said that large-scale exports of leather from Pakistan to China and other Middle Eastern countries had created acute shortage of raw leather. The situation was badly affecting the country's leather gloves and garments industries, besides hampering large-scale exports of the same, he said.
He said that this situation had perturbed the local exporters, as they were unable to timely deliver the export orders.
