Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said the government was not making any distinction between parliamentarians, whether belonging to treasury or opposition, in releasing of development funds for their respective areas. Prime Minister was talking to Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Justice Abdul Razzaq Thaeem (Retd), who called him at the Prime Minister House on Wednesday.
He discussed matters relating to development schemes and projects being carried out under the 'Tameer-e-Pakistan' programme. He informed the Prime Minister that funds had already been released for development schemes identified and submitted by the MNAs up to Rs5.0 million, in their respective constituencies.
Shaukat Aziz appreciated the performance of Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and directed it to speed up implementation of development projects.
He asked the minister to maintain close liaison with district Nazimeen and naib Nazimeens and to associate them with implementation and execution of development schemes.
