The first-ever event of FoodTech & Plastic, Printing & Packaging Pakistan-2004 exhibitions concluded here on Friday, after successfully highlighting the vast investment potential in the related industrial sectors.
The exhibitions, held under full support from ministries of industries & production, food agriculture & livestock and investment & privatisation as well as the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), showcased the latest machinery and technologies that can be brought into use by the local producers to improve upon their production and export capabilities.
Featuring more than 180 leading companies from 21 countries, including Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Malaysia, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, the Netherlands, UK and USA, the exhibition attracted more than 10,000 trade visitors from Pakistan and abroad during the four days of its conduct.
FoodTech Pakistan 2004 and Plastic, Printing & Packaging Pakistan 2004 Exhibitions were organised by Pegasus Consultancy, in collaboration with their foreign partners CEMS and Chan Chao and were held from 25 to 28 May at the Karachi Expo Centre.
The exhibition marked its success as the majority of exhibitors confirmed of having booked large-scale orders worth millions of dollars during the four days.
In addition to the display of products at the exhibition, Pakistan Plastic Manufacturers' Association (PPMA), one of the supporting bodies from the private sector, held a reception to honour the participants of the show.
City Nazim, Naimatullah Khan advocate, was the chief guest for the occasion. In addition to Naimatullah Khan, Aasim A. Siddiqui of Pegasus, Tiger Lin of Chan Chao and Usman Zakaria, President of PPMA, also addressed the reception.
The speakers, at this occasion, highlighted the vast industrial potential in the city, where a major portion of country's total industrial sector exists.
They also stressed upon the local manufacturers for joint ventures with international companies to better their production capabilities through transfer of foreign technology.
The organisers, Pegasus, CEMS and Chan Chao also announced that the exhibition will repeat in 2005 at a much larger scale with promising opportunities for the participating companies and bright prospects for the trade and industry in Pakistan.-PR
