The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has allowed increase in gas tariff for industrial, commercial and domestic consumers with effect from July 1, 2004, whereas no increase has been allowed in gas tariff for fertiliser industry.
According to the announcement of Ogra, gas tariff will be increased for industrial consumers from Rs 166.86 per MMBTU to Rs 174.66 per MMBTU or Rs 7.80 per MMBTU; Ice factories gas tariff will be increased from Rs 168.75 per MMBTU to Rs 193.82 per MMBTU or Rs 25.07 per MMBTU.
Likewise, gas tariff for CNG station, cement factories, power stations and Pakistan Steel will be increased from Rs 166.86 per MMBTU to Rs 174.66 per MMBTU or Rs 7.8 per MMBTU.
No changes has been made in fertiliser industry tariff for production of fertiliser, but gas used as fuel for generating steam and electricity and usage in housing colonies for fertiliser factories will be increased from Rs 166.86 per MMBTU to Rs 174.66 per MMBUT or Rs 7.8 per MMBTU.
For residential consumers: For first slab (up to 100 cubic meters per month) the increase will be from Rs 67.95 per MMBTU to Rs 69.31 per MMBTU, or Rs 1.36 per MMBTU, for consumers consuming over 100 to 200 cubic meters per month the increase will be from Rs 102.37 per MMBTU to Rs 104.42 per MMBTU or Rs 2.05 MMBTU.
For consumers consuming over 200 to 300 cubic meters per month Rs 163.78 per MMBTU to Rs 167.06 per MMBTU or Rs 3.28 per MMBTU; and for domestic consumers using gas more than 300 cubic meters per month from Rs 213.06 per MMBTU to Rs 217.32 per MMBTU or Rs 4.26 per MMBTU.
