SAI chief commends CBR relief package

Muhammad Nisar Shekhani, Chairman Site Association of Industry (SAI), has commended the relief package provided by the CBR to the taxpayers, notified through SRO 247(I)/2004 dated 5 May 2004.
According to the notification, the relief may be availed by a large number of persons, including those who did not pay sales tax for any reason, took inadmissible refund or adjustment of input tax, did not charge 'further tax' on supplies to the unregistered persons or against whom amount of sales tax is outstanding under audit objection, audit report, demand notice, or assessment/adjudication orders.
Shekhani has complimented the Chairman CBR Muhammad Abdullah Yousuf for creating a congenial atmosphere between tax collectors and taxpayers.
