Emphasising on quality medical education, Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool on Monday said that the University of Health Sciences (UHS) was playing a pivotal role to achieve the objectives.
Speaking at a certificate distribution ceremony to mark the first year of the institution he complimented President General Pervez Musharraf for his far-sighted vision in establishing UHS as a centre of excellence.
The Governor stressed on the importance of research work and said UHS must initiate solid programme in different fields of medical sciences.
"You must focus on research in medical practices, technology, electro-medical engineering and pharmaceutical for the promotion of quality education in the country," he stated.
