City Council Karachi passed on Thursday a record number of 22 resolutions and demanded of Sindh government to formulate an effective and comprehensive strategy to end increasing acts of terrorism in city.
The council session commenced with Presiding Officer Muslim Pervez in chair condemned in strongest terms, the killing of PPP MPA Abdullah Murad Baloch.
Members said that slain MPA was a renowned social and political personality and was respected by the people of his constituency for serving the masses.
"Terrorists deprived the people from a true and people friendly leader and his killing was protested in strongest terms by the people," one member Haji Siddique Rathore observed.
He through a resolution, which was unanimously passed by the council, asked the government to take serious notice of terrorist activities in city and effective measures should be taken to eliminate terrorist elements.
"No one should be let to destroy law and order situation and all possible measures should be taken to improve law and order situation of city," he demanded.
Members also condemned the killing of Hamas leader Shaikh Ahmed Yasin in Israeli attack and termed it a barbaric act.
The other resolutions passed unanimously condoled the deaths of Malir Town Nazim Azam Ali, Nasir Bukak, UC Nazim Liaquatabad Town, Noor Jahan Siddiqui, member of City Council Karachi.
