Through your newspaper I wish to bring the fact that persons appointed by banks on disabled quota (2.5%) are experiencing great disappointment due to the discrimination by the management of banks.
The promotion and enhanced annual increments are generally given to other persons ignoring the disabled for various reasons.
This state of affairs is not only creating frustration among disabled officers but is also responsible for creating a sense of insecurity despite their complete involvement and participation in the betterment of their respective institutions where they are working.
The statistical data of promotions and annual accelerated increments given in banks for the last year reveal that disabled officers are neglected.
This position in a number of cases has compelled the disabled officers to feel that the policies framed by the government to rehabilitate such cases and bring the unfortunate people at par with the normal able persons has not been implemented by the management of the banks with open heart.
I wish that the policy-makers in the government would ponder over the plight of the disabled workers/officers of the banks in improving their lot so as to create a sense of security in them.
