Paramilitary forces on Thursday arrested three suspected al Qaeda operatives in a raid at their hideout in tribal territory near Afghanistan's border, officials said.
A paramilitary contingent conducted the raid in the town of Goodar in Jamrood tribal district acting on a tip off that some foreigners had taken refuge in a house, local official Riaz Khan said.
The three included two Arabs and a local, he said without giving their names and nationalities.
"They are suspected to be al Qaeda operatives. We recovered two Kalashnikovs, grenades, a few wireless sets and mobile phones," he said.
