The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has accorded approval for three projects worth Rs 439.19 million, deferring two of Rs 7.4 billion.
It recommended 12 projects of Rs 16.657 billion to Ecnec (Executive Committee of National Economic Council), out of 17 projects worth Rs 32 billion it reviewed here on Saturday.
CDWP can take up the approval of the projects having outlay up to Rs 200 million, and has to refer over Rs 200 million to Ecnec.
CDWP approved two projects in health sector including Provision of Medical Equipment in Radiotherapy/Oncology Department, Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, Balochistan Quetta, of Rs 190 million, and National Health Policy Unit of Rs 196.77 million.
The meeting also approved one project in Physical Planning and Health Sector of Rs 52.490 million construction of Married Accommodation for 104 Other Ranks of Bhittai Rangers at Karachi, sources told Business Recorder.
CDWP deferred two projects which included Improvement of Basic Health care System in Balochistan of Rs 637.059 million and 500 KV Muzaffargarh-Gatti Transmission Line and Sub-Station Extensions of Rs 6.771 billion.
In Energy Sector, the CDWP discussed three projects of Rs 11.528 billion which include Rs 6.771 billion 500 KV Garh-Gatti Transmission Line and Sub-Station Extensions, Rs 3.810 billion 220 KV Grid Station at Khuzdar, 220 KV Dadu-Khuzdar Double Circuit Transmission Line along with 132 KV System Expansion and Rs 947 million additional of 3rd 500/200 KV transformer at Rawat Sub-Station.
It postponed consideration on Rs 6.771 billion 500 KV Garh-Gatti Transmission Line and Sub-Station Extensions and asked Wapda to submit the project again after addressing the concerns of Planning Commission over the cost of the project.
The meeting recommended two other projects to Ecnec for approval in the Energy Sector that include Rs 3.810 billion 220 KV Grid Station at Khuzdar, 220 KV Dadu-Khuzdar Double Circuit Transmission Line along with 132 KV System Expansion and Rs 947 million additional of 3rd 500/200 KV transformer at Rawat Sub-Station.
In Transport & Communication sector, the CDWP meeting recommended three projects of Rs 1.008 billion to Ecnec for approval.
The three projects include Rs 333 million Widening and remodelling of Roads & Intersection from Islamabad Airport to Rawalpindi, Rs 9.300 billion Rehabilitation of Old and Obsolete Signal Gear from Rohri to Shahdra Bagh Main Line Station of Pakistan Railways and Rs 450 million Group System of Mobiles (GSM) Project for AJ&K and Northern Areas.
In Health sector, source said, CDWP meeting discussed three projects of Rs 1.24 billion that include Improvement of basic Health Care System in Balochistan which costs Rs 637.059 million, Provision of Medical Equipment in Radiotherapy/Oncology department Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, Balochistan Quetta of Rs 190 million and National Health Policy Unit of Rs 196.77 million.
However, the meeting approved two projects that include Provision of Medical Equipment in Radiotherapy/Oncology department Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, Balochistan Quetta of Rs 190 million and National Health Policy Unit of Rs 196.77 million and deferred one project of Rs 637.059 million, Provision of Medical Equipment in Radiotherapy/Oncology department Bolan Medical Complex Hospital.
In Governance Sector, the meeting recommended to Ecnec for approval two projects of Rs 9.652 billion that include Rs 5.515 billion Conversion of 'B' Area into 'A' Area in 25 Revenue Districts of Balochistan, Rs 4.138 billion Raising of Balochistan Constabulary.
The CDWP meeting also recommended two projects of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and two projects of Ministries of Industries and Commerce to Ecnec for approval.
