imageMIRPUR: Seasoned personalities from diverse segments of the civil society in AJK described 2016-17 federal budget balanced and beneficial, in the long run, for the people of all walks of life in the country.

The budget would lead to continue bringing the country at the path of speedy progress and prosperity following the introduction of various healthy economic and tax reformatory steps in the budget primarily bringing maximum of the due tax payers in the national tax net for the overall speedy development of the country, said Ch. Muhammad Naeem, Chief Organiser Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran Azad Jammu Kashmir.

Talking to APP here late Saturday, Naeem said " this is a balanenced budget indeed beneficial to both the nation and the country".

The budget will indeed prove to be beneficial for flourishing the economic prosperity of the country in letter and spirit", the traders leader opined.

He continued that by increasing the export surplus, the country will not only be able to successfully meet the trade gap and also help the debt servicing by increasing the exports.

He said that the distribution of of due share to all the four provinces and the allocation of Rs. 800 billion development funds for Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) was an excellent step by the government.

He further said that allocation of funds for the laptops for youth will lead to overall improvement in the quality of education besides promoting the information technology humorous to the need of the modern age.

Raja Razaq Ahmed Khan, a retired SSP was satisfied of the much awaited increase in pension as he described the budget friendly to both serving and retired employees of private and public sector organizations to some extent in this era of speedy price hike as they have been blessed with due increase in their wages and pensions in this era of rising dearness, the entire world is suffering with, he observed

He said that because of grant of due incentives in the budget, the exports and production of textile, surgical, sports and leather industries will boost to greater extent. He also termed a good step to bring more due people in the tax net in order tto ensure the speedy progress and prosperity of the country through various existing and new mega projects of public welfare in the country.

"This is a pro-business and peoples-friendly balanced and broad-based budget inked by the PML (N) government", observed Khawaja Zaffar Iqbal, a former Vice President of the AJKCCI.

Talking to APP here, Zaffar said that it is balanced budget as at on one side it has been tried to alleviate the peoverty, unemployment through increase in minimum salary of a worker besides 10 percent increase in salaries of the government employees as well as the pensioners.

Whereas on the other side, the growth oriented, by addressing the debt circular country would be put on path of speedy progress and prosperity by enhancing the GDP growth by additional two percent, he observed.

Mentioning various salient features, the AJKCCI leader continued that five-year tax adjustment relief to various industrial sector including grant of zero-rated relief to the textile, surgical, sports and leather industry will lead to enhance the export of the country.

He said that fixed rate on agricultural production will lead to increase in per acre yield besides giving an impetus to the over all agricultural development in the country.

He also described as praise-worthy the allocation of funds in the budget for the timely completion of 969 mw Neelam Jhelum Hydel Power Project and for the up gradation of Mangla Power House besides for the development of hydro power sector with prime focus to add 10 thousand megawatt of power to the national grid by year 2018.

The AJK business community elder also appreciated allocation of Rs. 100 billion for the rehabilitation of IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) in the budget.
