Pakistan's six-member alliance of religious parties, Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has urged the governments of Pakistan and India not to overlook Kashmiri people in their newly-launched bilateral talks.
"Islamabad and New Delhi must remember that the United Nations resolutions are still valid," an MMA spokesperson said while talking to Irna here.
Shahid Shamsi said he was for continued meetings between Pakistan and Indian leadership, hoping that this activity could lay foundation for a purposeful dialogue on the 'core issue' of Kashmir.
The MMA spokesperson said that instead of "shying away" from discussing the Kashmir issue, both countries should accord top priority to a just solution of the problem, "which has been the main hurdle in normalisation of bilateral relations".
He said that the main reason behind `poor performance` of South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (Saarc) was the unsettled Kashmir issue and Pak-India differences thereof.
