Titanic II cruise ship, the world’s most awaited ship, fascinates and inspires the imagination of millions of people around the world. The stunning project revives the Australian billionaire Clive Palmer’s fully-functioning replica of the Titanic will be launched in 2018, two years later than initially planned.
The new ship will be practically identical to the original luxury liner, which famously sank in April 1912 after striking an iceberg on its maiden voyage.
According to CNN, “The new Titanic will of course have modern evacuation procedures, satellite controls, digital navigation and radar systems and all those things you'd expect on a 21st-century ship,” James McDonald, the global marketing director of Palmer's company Blue Star Line, told the publication.
Titanic II will be 13ft wider than the original ship, but its length (885ft), height (174ft) and weight (40,000 tonnes) will be similar and it too will have nine decks, the Belfast Telegraph reported.
Titanic II, which will offer first, second and third-class tickets, will have nine floors and 840 cabins capable of accommodating 2,400 passengers and 900 crew members, along with Turkish baths, a swimming pool and gymnasiums.
The most famous ship of all time, Titanic sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912, after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York. More than 1,500 people died when the ship, which was carrying 2,224 passengers and crew, sank under the command of Captain Edward Smith.
