FRANKFURT: German stocks opened sharply higher on Wednesday, after having lost around 6.0 percent over the past two days amid concerns over the eurozone debt crisis and the US economy.
A few minutes after opening, the index was showing a gain of 2.6 percent at 5,328.84 points. On Tuesday, it had closed 1.0 percent down on the day at 5,193.97 points.
