Ace comedian Kapil Sharma with a hugely successful TV show under his home banner has also marked his debut in B-town with his latest release ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyar Karun’. The movie has collected Rs 33.31 crore in just four days of its release.
The Abbas-Mustan directorial venture, which released on Friday, collected Rs 28.81 crore in its opening weekend. While trade experts were expecting the film to cross the Rs 30 crore mark in the opening weekend, the film surpassed it on Monday, when it collected Rs 4.5 crore, thus taking its cumulative total to Rs 33.31 crore, Indian Express reported.
Kapil Sharma’s film minted over Rs 28.8 crore in its first weekend which is the record opening for any film starring a debutante actor. While the previous best was with Varun-Alia-Sidharth's ‘Student of the Year’ the strong star power coupled with a holiday release. But, Kapil’s KKPK outdo Karan Johar’s big banner movie to be the biggest opener amongst all newbie's films.
According to Indian media report, the ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ star said, “It feels good when your efforts are appreciated. I was not expecting such a positive response. Thanks to everybody for sending so much love and blessings. ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ commenced on a very good note and hopefully it will carry on a high note in coming weeks”.
The movie also stars Arbaaz Khan, Varun Sharma, Manjari Fadnis, Elli Avram, Simran Mundi and Sai Lokur.
