LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Saturday said that human resource was as vital as infrastructure for strengthening the national economy.
Addressing the closing ceremony of Training programme on Electronic Journalism held under the auspices of Media Advocacy Center here, he said that such trainings not only played an effective role in the country's progress but effectively polished the abilities of youth also.
The minister lauded the Media Advocacy Center which had taken steps for training the youth as a trained and efficient human resource was important to get desired results.
Citing the example of Germany, he said that after Second World War that country was completely destroyed but it was rebuilt in 65 years by its citizens on the basis of education and training, and now it was among the world's best countries.
He said that if Pakistan had trained its people from the beginning it could have utilize the available resources in a better way. The Punjab government, he said, was taking revolutionary steps in education and training of the youth.
The minister said that the youth after getting training wopuld play a positive role for the country's progress.
US Consul General Zachary V. "Zach" Harkenrider, LCCI President Ejaz A Mumtaz, (SAARC Chamber CCI) Vice President Iftikhar Ali Malik, Media Advocacy Center Chairman Sikandar Hameed Lodhi, Lahore Press Club President Arshad Ansari and others also spoke on the occasion.
Later, shields were also distributed among those who completed the training.
