The first look of Ranbir Kapoor’s much awaited neo-noir drama ‘Bombay Velvet‘, which features Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles has been revealed.
The first look released by the ‘Ugly’ director, has Ranbir Kapoor in a rugged avatar standing with his back towards us. He plays the role of a street-fighter named ‘Johnny Balraj’. The poster shows the back side of the actor holding on to a fence, the lights behind glows with the name 'Bombay Velvet'. ‘PK’ actress Anushka Sharma plays the leading role with Ranbir Kapoor.
The film is based in the 60s era. Ranbir Kapoor plays Johnny Balraj, a street fighter who turns into a tycoon in the movie, and Anushka Sharma plays nightclub jazz singer Rosie. The film has been directed by Anurag Kashyap.
Anushka Sharma took to micro-blogging site Twitter and revealed how Ranbir aka Johnny Balraj of 'Bombay Velvet' looks in the film. She posted, “Say hello to the Big Shot Johnny Balraj of #BombayVelvet first look of the movie out on 29th”. Reportedly, Filmmaker Karan Johar who dons a negative role in the film had earlier tweeted, #BombayVelvet teaser poster out tomorrow.
The romantic thriller is being presented by Fox Star Studios and has been produced by Phantom Films. ‘Bombay Velvet’ is slated to release in May 2015.
