imageISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Irfan Siddiqui on Tuesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a school in Peshawar where assailants killed several innocent children.

Talking to PTV, he expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the incident, saying that the tragedy has saddened the entire nation.

He said the Federal Government, Armed Forces and other law enforcement agencies were fighting the terrorists, challenging writ of the state in North Waziristan Agency (NWA), with strong resolve and in a highly professional way to eliminate them.

Siddiqui said the Armed Forces rendered great sacrifices and cleared around 90 per cent area of the miscreants under the ongoing operation.

He said the fleeing terrorists were carrying out such cowardly act in desperation to shake firm resolve of the nation in war against terror.

He said a major operation was underway against the miscreants, which needed complete attention but unfortunately the political party having government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was busy in unjustified political game.

The provincial government should have focussed on increasing security and maintaining law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa instead of diverting its attention from the real issues, he added.
