imageFAISALABAD: Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce (FCCI) President Engineer Rizwan Ashraf welcomed reduction in power tariff by Rs 2.32 and said it would provide relief to domestic users and industrialists.

Talking to APP, he said the government was making serious efforts for revival of economy and its focus remained to overcome loadshedding of electricity.

He said reduction in oil prices in international markets helped government to reduce domestic rates for petroleum products and now a sizeable cut in electricity rates was a positive sign which will provide relief to the people.

He said focus of government should be to reduce the cost of doing business in the country which will provide a sustained ground for economic growth.

He said the government should also make efforts to produce cheap electricity through alternate means.

He proposed a tripartite arrangement between the Solid Waste Management Companies, chambers and electricity distribution companies to utilize the solid waste for generating cheap electricity.
