The ace director’s Farah Khan doesn’t like to make tacky films. Her film’s have dances, songs, melodrama, romance, dollops of emotions, color, star power and all the makings of a typical Bollywood potboiler.
According to media reports she said, “I make aesthetic movies which are grand and with some of the biggest stars. It's not fair to run them down. I don't make tacky films”. Farah Khan last directorial venture was ‘Tees Maar Khan’. Her upcoming film ‘Happy New Year’ is a musical heist drama boasts of a star cast that includes Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah. Jackie Shroff also features in it as a villain.
As source revealed in an interview Farah Khan said ‘Happy New Year’ is genre-bending, her films are always topped with ‘typical’ elements, closely associated with the creation of grand song and dance sequences. Farah likes to set her movies and ensures to offer a ‘twist’ to a formula.
‘Om Shanti Om’ director said, “I like to entertain all kinds of audiences with my films. Let me tell you, it is very difficult for a filmmaker to have a story which runs well and appeals to the B-class audience in India as well as to viewers in abroad”.
