imageISLAMABAD: Analysts have lauded Pakistan's policy of non- interference in the affairs of other countries for the peace and stability of the region.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, Dr. Sohail Mehmood, expert on South Asia, said that Pakistan is a nuclear state and is capable to defend itself against any aggression. The incumbent government is pursuing for the socio-economic development of the region, he added.

Prof. Dr. A. Z. Hilali of the Political Science Department of Peshawar University also said that Pakistan has been following the policy of non-interference in Afghanistan.

He said Pakistan wants long-term and enhanced relations with Afghanistan. Pakistan is ready to extend every possible cooperation to Afghanistan in diverse fields.

During his recent visit to Afghanistan, President Mamnoon Hussain reiterated Pakistan's commitment for peace and stability of Afghanistan, he added.

Chairman International Relations Department Peshawar University Dr. Adnan Sarwar said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's statement regarding Afghanistan clearly indicates that Pakistan is strictly following the policy of non-interference in Afghanistan.

He said Pakistan has no favourite candidate in the forthcoming elections of Afghanistan and it has initiated a number of welfare projects in Afghanistan.
