imageISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday assured the National Assembly of a transparent investigation into the inclusion of the name of PTI leader Javed Hashmi in the list of persons, who had got free medical treatment at government expense.

Replying to a point of order, Nisar said the inquiry would be completed within two days.

He recalled that former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani had also informed the House that Javed Hashmi had refused to take any funds for getting medical treatment, thus the presence of his name in the list was astonishing and unjustified.

He asked the Speaker to check the National Assembly documents and exclude the name of Javed Hashmi from the list.

Earlier, Javed Hashmi on a point of order, informed the House that he had refused to take any penny for his medical treatment, but it was disturbing to find that his name was included in the report for taking Rs 5 million from the government for medical treatment. It was not correct, he added.
