Turkish July gold imports fall to 37 tonnes

ISTANBUL: Turkish gold imports fell to 37 tonnes in July, Bourse Istanbul data showed on Friday, down from 44 tonnes a month earlier but was up compared to same period last year.

Gold imports in the first seven months amounted to 217 tonnes, more than double the amount it was in the first seven months of last year.

Turkey's gold imports in the whole of 2012, rose 51 percent to 120.78 tonnes from 79.7 tonnes a year earlier.
