(Karachi) Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA Khurram Sher Zaman has said that PTI will stand against Sindh government if a lockdown is imposed in Karachi.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Thursday, he said that the PPP-led provincial government has failed to provide relief to public and regulate prices of essential items. He said it is not the responsibility of the federal government to check and control the prices of vegetables, fruits and meat.

He maintained, "The PPP government want to cause economic damage by locking Karachi." He said that the federal government has given relief to millions of businesses by waiving off utility bills for a few months.

Zaman pointed out that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah should stop dramatizing and politicizing the coronavirus outbreak. He said, "Murad Ali Shah is responsible for spread of coronavirus in the province."

The PTI MPA highlighted that the Sindh government has created scare among the people regarding the virus instead of taking measures to tackle the pandemic effectively.

He questioned the decision to close stores at 5pm, saying the measure will not help curb the virus. Citing examples of the United States and Europe — where millions have been infected and thousands have died from the virus — he said that the world was coming to the conclusion that "lockdown is not the solution"
