  •  This year India has committed 384 ceasefire violations to date.
  • Due to firing by Indian troops, a 40-year-old civilian Muhammad Bashir from Mandhar village sustained serious injuries.

A senior diplomat from the High Commission of India was summoned on Wednesday by Pakistan to lodge a protest over ceasefire violations by India along the Line of Control (LoC) which injured a 40-year-old in Mandhar village.

According to a press release by the Foreign Office, Pakistan lodged a strong protest at the ceasefire violations by India along the LoC in Nezapir Sector on February 25. Due to firing by the Indian troops, a 40-year-old civilian Muhammad Bashir from Mandhar village sustained serious injuries.

The Indian occupation forces along the LoC and Working Boundary have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas and have committed 384 ceasefire violations to date this year, the FO statement read.

"The deliberate targeting of civilian populated areas is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity, international human rights and humanitarian laws. The ceasefire violations by India are a threat to regional peace and security and may lead to a strategic miscalculation," the FO press release added.
