Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that a meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and US President Donald Trump could be possible after progress in talks between the Afghan Taliban and the US.

In an interview to Urdu News,  the minister said that talks were in progress in Doha in which significant progress has already been made. Qureshi continued that both the leaders are important people who have a keen interest in peace and stability in the region.

The minister said that although the meeting between Trump and the premier was not dependent on talks between the US and the Taliban, a progress in it will create a conducive environment and create a new opening in the bilateral relations between the two countries.

While speaking about the visa sanctions being imposed on Pakistan, Qureshi denied that there was any issue. The minister added that the visa ban on three government officers of Pakistan is temporarily and will be lifted soon.

The foreign minister also said that the world should recognize Pakistan’s efforts to stop terrorism funding. He added that there was no reason to put Pakistan on grey list of the Financial Action Task Force, local media reported.
