The review of electoral lists was in full-swing in the country and voters have been asked to ensure the enrolment on the basis of their permanent or temporary addresses as mentioned on their national identity cards (NICs) before the end of the current month. In this connection, a meeting was also held at Saidu Sharif, Swat with District Election Commissioner, Swat, Ijaz Ahmad in the chair.
He clarified that Form No.21 for the votes' registration and transfer can be submitted before March 31, 2019. He said that according to Section 27 of the Elections Act 2017, all those whose vote is registered on other address than their permanent and temporary address mentioned on their national identity cards have been given this opportunity to transfer their votes on the any of the address mentioned on their cards.
For all those voters, who had not utilised the opportunity to transfer their votes or have become ineffective in wake of the Elections Act 2017, the Election Commission of Pakistan while exercising powers under Article 2019 (A) and Section 36 of the Elections Act 2017 issued directives for review of the electoral lists to guarantee protection to the fundamental right of vote and enable voters to transfer their votes on the addresses mentioned on identify cards.
